Fragmented Memories
I wanted to explore invisible noise–the noise that surrounds our everyday life and that we might not be aware of. Time leaves a lot of marks, but we are usually not aware of the process until what’s left is corroded. This can be true for our environment, but also our memories or relationships. Everyday life can become noise.
A disconnect from the people you care about can easily happen if you don’t make time for them. I often start conversations with my family and friends with “sorry than I haven’t texted in awhile” etc. Memories change over time and are never the same, this can also happen with relationships as you drift apart.
I decided to do postcards because they’re usually used to share experiences and memories and to let someone know that you’re thinking about them. They are, essentially, a fragment of a memory. The pictures that I took show images of erosion and the reader can probably see what they used to be like. It is supposed to make the reader consider what is important to them and, if one of the answers is relationships, make time and cherish them. The postcards are held together by a plastic sandwich bag, relating to family and childhood.
